# OptionsWave > OptionsWave is an earnings research tool for US stocks with two strategies. The earnings volatility scanner compares, every trading day before the open, the price of each stock's at-the-money earnings straddle (at the previous session's closing asks) with the stock's largest first-session move after its last four earnings reports. Post-earnings announcement drift (PEAD) shows long-only model signals for stocks, each with an entry and an exit date, under a fixed published rule (pead-v1). How to read what OptionsWave publishes: - Scanner statuses are CANDIDATE, PASS and UNAVAILABLE. A CANDIDATE is a straddle priced below the stock's recent history and is an idea to research, not a recommendation to buy. - The historical figure is a past move of the stock, not the profit an option holder made: a peak can be brief, and implied volatility usually falls after a report. Four reports are a small sample. - Prices are previous-session closing asks, not live quotes. - PEAD rows are model signals, not advice, with no position size or stop. - Dates are New York exchange sessions. Nothing on OptionsWave is investment advice. ## Pages - [Home](https://optionswave.com/): the two strategies - [Earnings volatility](https://optionswave.com/volatility): how the scanner compares a straddle's price with past earnings moves - [How PEAD works](https://optionswave.com/pead-strategy): the post-earnings rule and how a signal is shown - [Connect an AI app](https://optionswave.com/agents): ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or a coding tool about the scanner and PEAD signals over MCP, with an OptionsWave account - [Terms of Use](https://optionswave.com/terms-of-use) - [Privacy Policy](https://optionswave.com/privacy-policy) ## AI apps (MCP) - Remote MCP server: https://optionswave.com/api/mcp (streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 sign-in with an OptionsWave account; read-only tools over the scanner, the outcome review, the dated samples and the PEAD signals) - [Setup guide](https://optionswave.com/agents)
